Refund policy
We accept returns for all items EXCEPT Boveda products, gift cards, purchased rosins, pencils, gut strings, FASTER Sound Systems endpins, instrument cases, and post-trial returned strings/sets. If you are unhappy with your purchase, please contact us at info@soundboxstrings.com and we will do our best to make things right. Once a return is initiated, we will send a prepaid shipping label. Upon receiving and inspecting the return, we will refund the item(s) minus any shipping costs, and trial or restocking fees associated. See below for return windows, shipping costs, and restocking fees for specific items:
Return Windows:
- 7 days: Basic String Trials**
- 14 days: New String Trials, Rosin Flight trials and Purchased Accessories (except purchased rosins, pencils, and instrument cases).
- 21 days: Single String Quartet trials
Shipping charges:
- Free: All products and trials over $45 except Basic String Trials**
- $5: All products and trials under $45
- $15: Basic String Trials (return shipping included in price). You may see a $10 initial shipping cost which is to account for our site's automatic $5 shipping charge for any product under $45.

Returning New Strings
- We accept returns of new strings purchased from us up to 14 days from the day of delivery.
- If strings are not to your liking, please shoot an email to: info@soundboxstrings.com with your order number and which string(s) you will be returning. We will send you a prepaid label for shipping.
- Once we receive the strings, we will inspect the strings and refund the purchase. It will be treated as a new string trial with new string trial prices being deducted from the purchase.
- Please refer to the Single String Trial pricing for your specific instrument.
- Please allow up to 10 business days for the refund to show up in your account.
*Please note that if you decide to purchase a New Trial String or Set, the trial fee will be deducted from the total cost in the final payment. However, the trial fee is non-refundable so it is unfortunately not returned if you decide to return the string(s). If you'd ok with trying used strings, experiment with Basic String Trials and only pay for shipping.
**Double bass basic string trial sets are limited to 2 sets per customer per trial period. After the trial period has ended, the customer may purchase another 2 basic trials sets if they desire. If you'd like to trial more than 2 sets, please choose a new string trial set which is unlimited in its trials.
Return Window Definition
A return window begins on your estimated date of delivery and not upon purchase. Once a return window ends, you will no longer be able to request a return.
To start a return, please contact us at info@soundboxstrings.com. If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon reception and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you receive the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.
Exceptions / non-returnable items
Boveda products, gift cards, purchased rosins, pencils, gut strings, FASTER Sound System endpins, instrument cases, and post-trial returned strings/sets are considered Final Sale, and cannot be returned. Please get in touch if you have questions or concerns about your specific item. Unfortunately, we also cannot accept returns on gift cards.
Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.
Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too. If more than 15 business days have passed since we’ve approved your return, please contact us at info@soundboxstrings.com.
