I've had the Jargar Eccentric strings on for about four months now, so here's my take. The first thing that hits you is the overall character — dark and chocolatey on my cello, and I mean that as a compliment. Honestly, the set feels like an elevated Evoke.

The lower strings are the stars here. The G and C are dark and growly in the best way, with real depth under the bow — they have some of that fizz too, but it feels balanced rather than overpowering. Moving up, the A leans warm, which suits me, though it's a touch thin sounding. The D is where we part ways — the fizz takes over in a way some players will enjoy, but I want something warmer and rounder, so I swapped in a Magnacore Arioso D instead. That pairing works well and keeps the set's dark character intact.

Overall I like the set. If your taste runs toward the darker side, it's worth a try.
